Chicago Cubs Win | World Series 2016

The Chicago Cubs defeated Cleveland, 8-7, in 10 innings in Game 7 of the World Series Wednesday night at Progressive Field in Cleveland. Chicago ended its drought, winning its first world championship since 1908. Cleveland, now the owner of the longest drought, has not won the World Series since 1948.

Aroldis Chapman was the Game 7 winner, and Mike Montgomery earned his first career save by retiring Michael Martinez for the last out in a series in which the Cubs overcame a 3-1 deficit by winning the final three games. Ben Zobrist was named World Series MVP after his clutch RBI double in the 10th. The versatile switch-hitter finished with 10 hits in the Series.
