Canelo Alvarez defeated Sergey Kovalev with TKO in the 11th round

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) overcame Sergey Kovalev (34-4-1, 29 KOs) with a spectacular knockout in his light heavyweight debut becoming the WBO champion.

The match waited around at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV to start due to the UFC 244 main event with Masvidal vs Diaz to wrap up, which was running at the same time.

Canelo the biggest start in the sport moved up two weight division to face the technical 36-year-old veteran Russian boxer. Canelo became the first fighter in boxing history to hold tittles in three weight divisions simultaneous.

Alvarez moved up to 168 pounds to win a title, came down to middle weight and unified belts and now he moved up to 175 pounds and knockout one of the biggest punchers in boxing.
