CONCACAF Champions League Final: Club Leon defeats LAFC

The Liga MX club Leon beat the MLS side Los Angeles Football Club 1-0 (3-1 on aggregate) to win the Concacaf Champions League for the first time in their history.

LAFC had an opportunity to make a mark on the history books by winning the biggest game in franchise history. The stage was set playing at home at the BMO Stadium second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final at a packed stadium.

The LAFC pressured Leon’s goal, but they could not make the possession count. The Argentinian striker Lucas Di Yorio scored the only goal of the second leg in the 20th min. The LAFC looked well but not enough to overcome the Mexican side.

The Liga MX players walked through the hallways after the game blasting music by popular Mexican artist Peso Pluma (who was in attendance) as they sang and flashed their championship medals. The cup is heading back to Mexico, where it typically resides.
