MLS | LAFC 1-0 Sounders | Important Conference Win

LOS ANGELES, CA --

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) faced the western conference rivals Seattle Sounders in a mid week game at the LAFC home in the center of Los Angeles the BMO Stadium. 

The LAFC leading the western conference and the Seattle Sounders isn’t trailing far behind with some few points aways from the 2022 MLS Champions. The Sounders are attempting to close the gap early on in the season. 

The LAFC started the match with scoring the second-quickest goal in club history with a goal from the Polish midfielder Mateusz Bogusz, the goal was scored in the 00:54 minute of play. 

The LAFC has been pressing the rest of the first half and Sounder’s Peruvian forward Raul Ruidiaz has had a couple of attacks against the LAFC goal keeper John McCarthy that has been on high alert and keeping the ball away from the back of the net. The first half ended at a 1-0 lead from the home side LAFC. 

Second half picked on a clear spring night in center of Los Angeles were there fans are always making part LAFC experience memorable.

In the 65th minute of the play the LAFC attack put the LAFC fans on their feet with a cut in pass from Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini and cross that Captain Carlos Vela tried to put away with a fancy last touch, but the Sounders had a defender basically hugging the LAFC to stop any goal opportunity. 

In the 75’ min Midfielder Bogusz puts a cross in the box that Jose Cifuentes puts in the back of the net but referee went to the Video assistant referee (VAR) to confirm the goal and the goal was denied due to being called a hand ball.
