Ryan Garcia defeats Javier Fortuna via KO

All week long, there were questions regarding which Ryan Garcia would show up against Javier Fortuna. Fortuna stirred the pot by calling out Garcia's skills. Garcia took that personally. Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Garcia proved Fortuna wrong, and then some.

In front of family and friends, Garcia beat Fortuna via sixth-round knockout. Garcia fought like a hungry shark, thanks in part due to the guidance of trainer Joe Goossen.

Garcia took down Fortuna three times, showcasing the power for which fans have come to know Garcia. This was following a delay in the fight (it was originally scheduled for 2021) for Garcia to focus on his mental health. He used that as motivation, not a crutch. In the fourth round, Garcia knocked Fortuna down with a body shot. In the fifth, he landed a counter shot to the face, attacking all over. In Round 6, Garcia landed a huge left hook to the head that took down Fortuna for good.
