Atlanta United defeated Philadelphia Union, 2-0 in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Julian Gressel scored by putting the finishing touch on a nice setup with Darlington Nagbe, who played on to the Argentine playmaker Pity Martinez who retuned the favor. Gressel Chipped over the Union’s goalkeeper Andre Blake.
Union’s best chance to equalize came minutes later when Sergio Santos played the Brazilian slipped a diagonal pass to Brenden Aaronson who Brad Guzan denied from the edge of the six-yard box.
Josef Martinez pinned the insurance goal in the 80’ minute, ripping a left-footed blast under the crossbar for his fifth postseason goal.
Atlanta United moves on to the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Eastern Conference Final.
