Los Angeles Football Club 5, LA Galaxy 3 | 2019 MLS Cup Playoff

The Battle of LA continues, and it was played in Audi MLS Cup Playoffs it lived up to the hype, Los Angeles Football Club defeated the LA Galaxy for the first time.

Carlos Vela and Adama Diomande scored a pair of goals each to give LAFC a thrilling 5-3 win the Western Conference Semifinals at the Banc of California Stadium.

LAFC showcased their 2019 Supporters’ Shield as the team was the best record in the 2019 MLS regular season.

Carlos Vela opened the scoring in the 16’ minute, it was his eight all time goal against the Galaxy. Vela scored his second goal in the 40minute, there was a little controversary on the play if it was offside but after the Video Review referee Kevin Stott allowed the goal to stand.

Cristian Pavon responded a minute later with a first-time finish inside the far post after Zlatan Ibrahimovic won a challenge on Tristan Blackmon.

Ibrahimovic then equalized in the 55’ minute off a gaffe by Tyler Miller, who let the Swede’s shot go off his hand and through his legs.

The Galaxy was trying to repeat itself but Diego Rossi and Adama Diomande scored a pair of goals in a span of two-minute to restore a two-goal lead.

Rolf Feltscher scored in the 77’ minute from a free-kick from Romain Alessandrini.

The LA Galaxy rallied from another two-goal deficit, but Vela and co. had other plans sending the Galaxy home and making their appearance in their first Western Conference Final.
