Canelo Alvarez headlining another huge card on a Cinco de Mayo weekend, Canelo Alvarez unified middleweight world titles in a competitive unanimous decision over Daniel Jacobs at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena. In this Middleweight title unification fight was more of a chess match variety for Alvarez compared to his last action fights against former champion Gennady Golobkin. Canelo Oulanded Jacobs 120 to 89 on power punches according to CompuBox.

The outcome of the fight was in some what of a small doubt as the scorecards were read.

Alvares (52-1-2, 35 KOs) landed 45% of his punches overall, Jacobs (35-3, 29 KOs) landed just 25% of his punches.

The result allowed Canelo to take home the win and retains his claim as one of the best pound-for-pound fights in the world.
