Jean Pascal defeats Badou Jack on a close 12 round split decision

Badou Jack (22-3-3, 13 KOs) lost on a close 12 round split decision to WBA light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (35-6-1, 20 KOs) in an exciting fight at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA.

Badou built up a good lead in the fight but Jack tried to rally in the second half and needed to do more to come up with a win. Pascal knocked down Jack in the 4th with a right to the head. He continued to punish Jack in the 5th and 6th round but Jack was able to recover.

In the championship rounds pascal was gassed out and unable to fight consistently to be competitive, Pascal was looking to KO Jack with every shot, but he was sloppy and his legs weren’t there.

Jack wants the rematch

“Of course I feel I won the fight, but it is what it is,” said Jack, who has now had six of his last eight fights end in draws, split decisions or majority decisions. “He’s got a hell of a chin, he’s a tough warrior and I want to thank him for the opportunity. I thought I was winning but maybe I’m wrong.  I would love a rematch.”
