Major League Soccer 2019 Season Has Started

The Major League Soccer’s season has kicked off on Saturday, March 2nd at Talen Energy Stadium with a match up between Philadelphia Union and Toronto FC. The new expansion side FC Cincinnati’s first MLS Game was also played against Seattle Sounders.


Philadelphia 1-3 Toronto FC
Toronto FC won it’s first three points in an action-packed opener against Philadelphia Union.  Michael Bradley spoiled Marco Fabian’s debut, Bradley scoring twice and Fabian scoring the team’s lone goal.

 


Orlando City 2-2 NYC FC
NYC FC began strong taking control until the 60th min where Nani and Co. helped turn the match around to a draw.

 


Columbus 1-1 NY Red Bulls
Red Bulls rested some of the regulars in anticipation of their Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal. The New York Red Bulls held on for draw against the Columbus Cres SC.

 


FC Dallas 1-1 New England
FC Dallas Michael Barrios opened score but Spain’s Carles Gil scored his first MLS goal against FC Dallas for the draw.

 


Colorado 3-3 Portland
The Colorado Rapids draw 3-3 against Portland Timbers on a snow-covered pitch.

 


Vancouver 2-3 Minnesota United
Marc Dos Santos lost on his debut as head coach of the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 to the Minnesota United.

 


Houston Dynamo 1-1 Real Salt Lake
The Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake dueled to a draw in the season opener.

 


LA Galaxy 2-1 Chicago
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and 16-year old Efrain Alvarez led the Galaxy to a win over the Chicago Fire.

 


Seattle Sounders 4-1 FC Cincinnati
The Seattle Sounder spoiled the FC Cincinnati season opener by handing them their first lost.

 


San Jose 1-2 Montreal Impact
Matias Almeyda debuted with a lost against the Montreal Impact.

 


D.C. United 2-0 Atlanta United
On the cold, rainy night the D.C. United defeated the defending MLS Cup Champions Atlanta United 2-0 in the nation’s capital.

 


LAFC 2-1 Sporting KC
LAFC earned an exciting, rough and physical last-minute win over the Sporting KC, last minute goal by Adama Diomande.
