Seattle Sounders 2, Real Salt Lake 0 | 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs

The Seattle Sounders took on Real Salt Lake on their Western Conference Semifinal clash of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs. The Sounders have been in the playoffs every year since the club has been in MLS, they relied on that experience to take on Real Salt Lake and came with the 2-0 win at CenturyLink Field to put them in the Western Conference Final.

Both teams were looking for a goal early on Nicolas Lodeiro's curling shot pinged off the post in the fifth minute for Seattle, but it was a scoreless first half.

In the second half, Sounders defender Roman Torres was taken out of the match with a left hamstring strain and Xavier Arreaga took his place. Seattle was pushing for that opening goal but RSL legendary goalkeeper Nick Rimando was held firm until the 64' min of play, when Gustav Svensson scored a header off Lodeiro's corner kick. RSL's Nicolas Lodeiro scored from the left side of the box in the right side of the goal.

RSL was not able to respond to Seattle so Seattle advances to the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Western Conference Final.
