US defeats Panama 3-0 on Gregg Berhalter’s Debut as a Coach

The United States defeated Panama 3-0 in the International Friendly in Glendale, Arizona.

Los Angeles, CA. – USA Men’s National Coach Gregg Berhalter overcame his first test of the year.

Berhalter has a good pool of players to choose from as they demonstrated against Panama.  US National Team has more than enough talent and time to put a solid squad to represent in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Michael Bradly was the only representative of the previous US National Team; the US look strong and had the advantage of the ball possession for most of the game.

Djordje Mihailovic debuted with a goal for the team USA. Mihailovic blasted one passed the Panama goalkeeper in the in the 39th minute of play.

In the 80th min, Walker Zimmerman headed a cross that was badly timed by Panama goalkeeper Eddie Roberts to put in the back of the net.

At the closing minutes of the game, Jonathan Lewis gave Christian Ramirez a beautiful cross to send Panama home with a defeat.

 

Team USA will face Costa Rica on Feb. 2nd in San Jose, California.
